How to Transfer Contacts From One iPhone to Another

Apple regularly releases new versions of its iPhone. If you have recently purchased or acquired a new iPhone, you probably want to transfer the contacts from your old iPhone to your new iPhone. To transfer these contacts, you can use iTunes. You can sync your old iPhone to your computer to copy all of the contacts from your old phone to your computer. You can then add the contacts from your computer to your new iPhone.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

  1. 1
Plug your old iPhone into your computer and open iTunes. Your iPhone's icon appears in the left column.
  2. 2
Click the "Info" tab at the top of iTunes. This opens settings on your iPhone, including "Contacts."
  3. 3
Click the "Sync Address Book Contacts" check box at the top of the window. Then click the radio button next to "All Contacts."
  4. 4
Click the "Sync" button at the bottom right corner of the screen. Contacts from your iPhone are now synced with your computer. Your computer address book should now match the contact list on your old iPhone.
  5. 5
Eject the old iPhone by clicking the "Eject" button next the icon of your iPhone.
  6. 6
Plug the new iPhone into your computer. Click on the icon of the new iPhone in the left column.
